Feature & Follow #36: BEA Yay or Nay?

Feature & Follow button

Feature & Follow is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where each host will have their own Feature blog to show off more new blogs!

The short answer is nope, I have never been to BEA. Since I'm in Canada and BEA is in New York, I'd need to take time off work, book flights, hotel and etc. Lots of work involved. My main reason though is because I'd be going alone if I go. I don't want to drag my family or friends to something they're not interested in and going alone just seems really scary so.... I hope I can go to a book event one day though!

Have you been to BEA? Thank you for stopping by!

  1. The travel aspect has kept me away from BEA, but maybe one day.

  2. I hear you on the time off, cost, and travel aspects. BUUUUUT... as far as going it alone that's easy to solve. People are always looking for buddies to hang out with and room with. Like I would totally be your buddy (just not the hotel stuff because I stay with my brother which is free). Just keep that in mind. It's super fun and it would be so great to meet you in person!

    1. I would love to meet you and all the other awesome book bloggers I know! I am a little on the shy side so hopefully you won't mind me being quiet a lot of the time? Haha~ Thanks for making me feel better about going though <3

  5. I haven't been there either. I live a few states away from NY, but still far enough where I'd have to pay a plane or train ticket, a hotel room, and a bunch of other stuff. I hope that you can one day go though! Old follower!

  7. I actually live in NYC, but I'm a new blogger and I don't want to go somewhere alone, so I'm not going this year. Maybe sometime in the future though, if it ends up being in New York again :)

  8. I haven't been to BEA, and flights from Ireland to the States don't come cheap! I'm in the same boat with no body willing to go :( It would be awesome for bloggers to meet up in person, though =) Maybe one day it'll happen! Have a great weekend, Eileen :)

  14. I'm hoping to be able to go this year, but it's not set. I have similar issues as you--Canadian with no friends irl with similar interests :P Which part of Canada do you live in? I live in Atlantic Canada so it's not toooo far. Ish. I'm hoping to make more blogger friends first tho! That way I wouldn't be alone when I got there... But I'm shy too so I feel you! I have heard too that a lot of bloggers that go are really friendly and like to meet up and share hotels and whatnot.

  15. I just drag my husband around to all of the events I want to go to. I don't drive and i'm also really shy. I think he usually enjoys himself well enough though. But I haven't been to BEA.
