Goodreads Summary:
New York Times bestselling author J. Daniels brings us the next book in her Dirty Deeds series.

Is this love or just a game?

Tori Rivera thinks Jamie McCade is rude, arrogant, and worst of all . . . the sexiest man she's ever laid eyes on. His reputation as a player is almost as legendary as his surfing skills. No matter how her body heats up when he's around, she's determined not to be another meaningless hookup.

Jamie McCade always gets what he wants. The sickest wave. The hottest women. And Tori, with her long legs and smart mouth, is definitely the hottest one. He knows Tori wants him-hell, most women do-but she won't admit it. After months of chasing and one unforgettable kiss, it's time for Jamie to raise the stakes.

Jamie promises that soon Tori won't just want him in her bed, she'll be begging for it-and he might be right. Somehow he's found the spot in her heart that makes her open up like never before. But with all she knows about his past, can she really trust what's happening between them? Is Jamie playing for keeps or just playing to win?

This book can be read as a stand-alone.
Book 1--Four Letter Word

Review

I read Four Letter Word, the first book in the Dirty Deeds series around the time it was released. It was a decent New Adult book, a bit on the unrealistic side but it introduced me to two characters I needed more from. I'm so glad they got their own story with Hit the Spot.

Tori and Jamie had the best scenes in Four Letter Word. For me, they stole the spotlight from Sydney and Brian. I was honestly more interested in them than anything else in that first book #sorrynotsorry. Needless to say I was excited to get to their story. Tori and Jamie's obvious chemistry just explodes in Hit the Spot. They play a game. They push and pull at each other and all their back and forth added up to some intense emotions and scenes. Tori and Jamie were on fire as their relationship built and surpassed levels neither expected.

Tori's a fun girl. She's saucy and doesn't hold back. I think some readers would find her hesitations frustrating but I thought she was completely relatable. She kept Jamie at a distance because she feared getting hurt (again). At the same time she starts to recognize Jamie's worth. The natural gestures he makes because he really values her wore her down. I love how she bravely takes big steps after that.

Jamie is such a confident and cocky guy. Usually these are not taken as good traits but Jamie fully embraces this side of himself. It just really works on him. It doesn't hurt that when it comes to Tori, he's basically always right. Even rough around the edges he so clearly gets her. He always breaks through her defenses. Tori and Jamie all the way.

A word of warning that the language in this one is quite blunt. Hit the Spot would not be for you if you're uncomfortable with profanity. There's a fair amount of dirty words and cussing in most of the dialogues. Although I found the swearing much less annoying than Jamie's repetitive usage of "babe" and "straight up". Every time those words came out of his mouth I cringed. Sorry but it was too much.

Fans of J. Daniels would definitely eat this book up. It's hard not to love the foul-mouth but mighty attractive and endearingly sweet guy in Hit the Spot. He really knows how to woo a girl. So if you like some extreme tension and heat then this is the book for you.

  1. I don't mind a foul mouth character, especially a male one. Sounds like a good read!
